It seems like a large collection of blog rants compiled together Kluwe is very angry with some of these oppressive institutions, and there is no question about it when you read some of these scathing take downs. The essays range from humorous looks at the attitudes of people on the internet to serious explorations of the realities of human rights. How about a list of injuries groin pull, sprained ankle, etc. Reading another essay, written by the same person, hasn't done anything to expand my understanding of the topic. But the book is grating and disjointed and self-righteous and, above all, unnecessary. But before his next book, I wish for Kluwe a great editor His musings are now collected in a new book, Beautifully Unique Sparkleponies: So beautifylly wanted to keep weeding through.
And how can you not read a book by the author of the amazing rebuttal letter to Maryland state delegate Emmett C. Are they all winners?

I am a fan of writing that gives the reader insight into someone else's perspective. I don't need a path to follow. Jul 27, Jeremy rated it it was ok. Kluwe is a beauyifully guy. This book is pretty much my worst nightmare. For the past several months I had basically stopped sparklepones politics, turned off talk radio altogether, and taken myself out of most online political discussion groups with the exception of the marriage equality issue.

Kluwe is an interesting man and I have loved listening to him on various Podcasts this makes me wonder what a longer form piece of writing might look like from him but a lot of that, for sparileponies at least, didn't transfer to the book. Because there are quite a few reprints, the book has a tendency to feel repetitive. They won't magically turn you into a lustful cockmonster.

He's a reader; he's a thinker; he's a very good writer. This book was purchased for me by a friend as a gift. And more substantive issues, like gay marriage. His delivery is full of the enthusiasms that birthed the essays and the charming weirdness of his own personality. sparklepknies

And I found myself in agreement with him about virtually everything he's a fiery left-libertarian ; it was like the lid on my sociopolitical id just blew off for a time there.
View all 9 comments. Also he's kinda up his own ass quite a bit. This kind of writing lends itself better to the audiobook than it does to the page, and Kluwe makes a good narrator. I really, really like Kluwe after reading this.
While I found some chapters resonated more with me than others, there's no denying his writing ability, his sparkleopnies and creative mind, and his strong beliefs in doing what is write, while making people laugh in the progress.
Sparklwponies letter, one of the first pieces in the book, is hilarious. This book fascinated me. In addition to essays and letters, there are also a few short stories, in which Kluwe's t Knique already loved Chris Kluwe before he wrote this book, so by saying I absolutely loved this book, I may be a little biased.
